Instructions
Crust
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.
  2. Combine 3/4 cup crushed gluten free pretzels, 2 Tbsp sugar, and 1/4 cup melted butter. Press firmly into the prepared baking pan to create an even layer.
  3. Bake for 8 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool while preparing brownie batter.
Brownie
  1. Place Gluten Free Brownie Mix in a large bowl. Add butter and egg and mix with an electric mixer on medium speed until just combined.
  2. Spread brownie batter evenly over the pretzel crust and smooth top.
  3. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean, about 25 minutes. Let cool completely before frosting.
Frosting
  1. Combine sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips in a heavy saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring frequently, until chocolate chips are melted. Remove from heat.
  2. Stir in vanilla extract and then spread mixture over warm brownies. Sprinkle with crushed gluten free pretzels and sea salt.

on 5/23/2015 this recipe called for one egg in the brownie layer.
    Now it has three eggs.
    Which is correct?
I have requests for this recipe at every potluck I go to- and I have been using one egg.
I crush the pretzels with a potato masher in a heavy pot, I have used Glutino brand. GF pretzels. My blender and food processor turn them to powder.

      Hi Barbara,
The Gluten Free Brownie Mix that is called for in this recipe has been reformulated. It is a lighter blend than than previous mix and requires different amounts of additions. It will still work for the Pretzel Brownie recipe, but the brownie portion will have a slightly different texture and flavor.
