Ingredients
Ingredients
Instructions
Oats
  1. Simmer oats and water for 20 minutes in a sauce pan over low heat.
  2. While oats are simmering, brown your sausage, slicing into bite sized pieces when cooked through. (We used Meat a la Mode's oatmeal raisin spice sausage made with pork and turkey because it mimics the ingredients in Scottish haggis & perfectly complemented the oatmeal!)
Raisin Sauce
  1. Separately, mash together the ingredients for the raisin sauce with a mortar and pestle, ricer, or fork (this can also be done in a food processor if available).
  2. Add molasses, cream, and buttermilk to cooked oats and stir well.

Serve your oatmeal topped with sausage and drizzled with raisin sauce -- 'Nessie would approve!

    Serves 2.
