  1. Place entire package of Irish Soda Bread Mix in a large bowl. Mix in1 ¼ cup water, 1/3-cup oil and 1 egg. Mix until just blended. Turn out onto floured surface. With well-floured hands, form dough into a ball. Pat out on lightly greased pie pan so loaf is about 8” in diameter and 1 ½” high. Slash with sharp knife to make a cross on top. Bake at 375°F for 40-45 minutes.
  2. You can use if 9”x 5” loaf pan if you prefer. Good hot or cold. Try adding 1 cup of raisins, currants, or chopped dates to dry ingredients.

      We do not recommend preparing this our Irish Soda Bread mix in a bread machine. If you do try to prepare it this way, use your bread machine’s quick bread setting.

      Hi Judy,
      You can bake in a loaf pan at the same temperature- 375°F. It should take about the same amount of time as well. To test if your loaf is done baking, take the loaf out of the oven and turn it upside down, taking it out of the pan if you’re making a sandwich loaf. Give the bottom of the loaf a firm tap. The bread will sound hollow when it’s done.
