Flaky Whole Wheat Pie Crust

This is the recipe from our 5 pound bag of Whole Wheat Pastry Flour.

Directions

Sift flour and salt into a large mixing bowl. Cut butter into 12 pieces and rub into dry ingredients until the mixture resembles a coarse meal with some pea-size pieces. Sprinkle water over mixture, one tablespoon at a time and knead lightly just until dough forms. Form dough into a ball. Cut in half and press each into a disc shape. Wrap each disc in waxed paper or plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes before rolling.

Makes two 9-inch pie crusts (16 slices).

Bake crust following your pie's instructions or pre-bake at 375°F for 25 - 30 minutes.

THIS HAS BEEN THE BEST TASTING PIE CRUST AND THE EASIEST TO MAKE. HAVE USED IT WITH COCONUT CREAM PIE, APPLE PIE, PUMPKIN PIE.
THIS RECIPE IS A KEEPER!

I love this Pie Crust. It makes a lovely crust that the untrained tastebuds wouldn't even know is whole wheat. It goes will with everything: sweet, savory, full size, mini. I make several batches at a time and am always so happy with the result. This is my go to pie crust recipe.

These turned out amazing! I added a wee bit more butter and a wee bit more water.

I mixed everything in the food processor! They came out perfect!

They will sit in the refrigerator until Thanksgiving!

Great recipe! Thank you!
