Directions
Add all ingredients in the order suggested by your bread machine cycle and process on the basic bread cycle according to the manufacturer’s directions. Let loaf cool for 15 minutes before slicing. Add currants at the beep.
Oven Baking Option- Unplug the bread machine at the end of the mix cycle. Punch down by hand after the first rise to keep the dough from rising too high during the ensuing rise. Grease a 2-1/2-3 quart glass baking dish; shape the dough to fit the dish and put it in a warm place to double in size (about 45 minutes). Bake in a 365°F oven for about 25-20 minutes. Makes 1-1/2 lb loaf (13 slices). |
