Triticale Biscuits

Contributed by: Bob's Red Mill Natural Foods

Triticale is a hybrid grain – a cross between wheat and rye. It averages 28% higher protein than wheat and contains all the essential amino acids, this making it a more complete protein than the parent grains. It has an interesting nutty flavor and is high in fiber. Add Bob’s Red Mill triticale flour in your baking for added flavor and nutrition.

Directions

Preheat oven to 425°. One ungreased cookie sheet, set aside.

Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening. Add water, stir quickly. Knead for 1 minute and roll dough 1 inch thick and cut into biscuits. Place biscuits onto cookie sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes.

Yield: 9 biscuits
