Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan or a 9 x 9-inch layer cake pan, set aside.
Cream together the egg, oil and sugar until smooth and sugar is dissolved. Add salt, vanilla extract, soy protein powder, carob powder and water. Mix thoroughly. Sift together the unbleached white pastry flour and baking powder and add to wet mixture. Stir in chopped nuts. Add additional water if necessary, adding a few drops at a time to make a thick batter that will drop heavily off the end of a spoon. This batter should not be too liquid. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes. Cut when cool. Makes about 20 bars. |
