Old Irish Bread

Contributed by: customer Patricia Harty

This bread uses old fashioned measuring techniques that allow for a truly unique Irish recipe. This recipe was not tested in the Bob’s Red Mill Kitchen but was submitted by a customer who wanted to share a recipe they enjoyed with others.

Directions

Remove yeast packet from bread mix and save for later use.

Combine the all the ingredients together. Add the buttermilk last in case you do not need all of it. Pour batter into a cast iron skillet and cut deep cross on top. Bake at 375°F for 45 minutes, then turn off oven and leave bread in an additional 15 minutes. Cool wrapped in a towel.
