DirectionsStep 1Putting It All Together:Wash your grubby hands! Step 2Set the oven to 375°F (175°C).Step 3Core & slice the apples into 8 pieces (leave the skin on), placing them in the pan. Using one Granny Smith apple for every 2 McIntosh apples works well.Step 4Place the butter in the saucepan on low heat.Step 5Mix the white sugar, cinnamon and 2 tsp of pancake mix in a bowl with your fingers & then sprinkle on the apples.Step 6Mix the next 2/3-cup pancake mix and brown sugar in a bowl. Pour the melted butter on top and mix in with a rubber spatula.Step 7Use the spatula & your fingers to cover the apples with gobs of the mixture.Step 8Place the pan in the oven & bake for 1 hour. Let it cool, but serve warm with French vanilla ice cream, or by itself.Yield 15 servings. |
