Split Pea & Ham Soup

  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1/4 cup Onion diced
  • 1-2 Garlic cloves, peeled & minced
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 8 cups Ham Stock
  • 1 Bay Leaves (Premium Hand Selected)
  • 1/2 tsp Peppercorns ground (Four Color Mix)
  • 1/2 cup Celery diced
  • 3/4 cup Carrots diced
  • 3/4 cup Potato diced
  • 1 cup Ham diced
  • 1 lb Yellow Split Peas

Directions

In a large stock pot saute onions and garlic in oil for 5 minutes. Combine with split peas, ham stock, bay leaf and pepper. Cover and simmer slowly for 1-1/2 hours or until split peas are soft.

Add celery, carrots, potatoes and ham during last 15 minutes of cooking time. Remove bay leaf. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Makes 8 Servings.
