Kamut Berry and Orzo Pilaf

This recipe was not tested in the Bob’s Red Mill Kitchen but was submitted by a customer who wanted to share a recipe they enjoyed with others.

  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 cup Orzo uncooked
  • 1/2 cup Onion uncooked
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 Carrot medium-sized, diced
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth and Water
  • 1 cup Organic Kamut Berries
  • 1 pkg Spinach frozen, defrosted, drained
  • 1 Salt and Pepper (to taste)


Add oil to skillet and turn to medium heat.  Add the orzo to the skillet and toast in the skillet until it is light brown and than add the onion, garlic and carrot and cook until the onion is translucent.

Add the chicken broth and water mixture. Bring the mixture to a boil and than reduce the heat and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. Stir in Kamut berries and spinach and cook for 2 to 3 more minutes until heated through. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Makes 8 servings.
