Honey Wheat & Rye Bread

This won 1st prize at the 2008 Malheur County Fair.

Directions

Dissolve the yeast in the warm water.  Stir the salt, butter and honey into the yeast mixture.  In a separate bowl, combine the flours.  Add this to the liquid ingredients and mix well.  Knead the dough for 5-10 minutes.  Separate dough and form into 3 loaves.  Let rise until bouble.  Bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes.  Makes 3 loaves (12 slices each).

This has by far been my family's favorite bread that I make. I am a new bread maker this year with previous years only using the machine and box mixes. This recipe is easy and yields nice healthy loaves. I actually bake all loaves and freeze two in freezer bags.
