Kamut Indian Fry Bread


In a medium bowl blend together first 4 ingredients (flour through salt). Slowly add water until it forms a stiff dough ball while blending with hands.

Pinch off approximate a 2 tablespoon size of dough. On a well floured area pat out to make a round flat patty. Poke a hole in the middle with a fork.

Lift dough into a hot fry pan with about 1" of vegetable oil in it. Fry until golden, turning only once. Drain on paper towels.

Can be dipped in cinnamon/sugar or enjoyed with jam and butter.

Makes about 12 servings.
