DirectionsStep 1Mix first 5 ingredients till crumbly; press two-thirds of the mixture into an 11 1/2 x 7-inch pan or 9-inch square pan. Cover with rhubarb or apples.Step 2Combine remaining ingredients of sugar, water and cornstarch and bring to a boiling point, boiling for 1 minute. Pour mixture over ingredients in pan and sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture.Step 3Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until done. Serve warm or cold, topped with ice cream, if desired.Makes 12 squares. |

way too sweet; use half the sugar in the sugar mixture... double the cinnamon; you can use 1 Cup of the Wheat Flakes; use Granny Smith apples.

Recipe has the ingredients out of order per the instructions. Mix the last 5 ingredients together for base and crumb mixture. I would double the crumb mixture the next time. Eat this with some good vanilla ice cream.
