Basic Cooking Instructions for Golden Couscous

Basic instructions

  • 1-1/4 cups Water or Broth
  • 2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Golden Couscous
  • 1/8 tsp Salt (optional)

Directions

Basic Recipe: Bring water or broth to a boil. Add Butter, Couscous and salt (optional). Stir, cover, remove from heat, and let stand for 5 minutes. Stir to fluff up and serve.
Serves 2 to 3.


As a cereal, add 1 cup Couscous to 2 cups hot milk and 2 Tbsp butter. Cover; let stand for 5 minutes. Serve with honey, maple syrup, nuts, fruit, etc. Serves 2.

For a Cool Salad: Prepare basic Couscous and let cool. Add 1 diced cucumber, 1/2 diced green bell pepper, 3 Tbsp chopped fresh basil and 1/2 diced tomato. Add 1/3 cup lemon juice or your favorite dressing. Chill and serve.
Serves 4 to 6.

Why no directions for serving more than 2-3 people?

Our Basic Cooking Instructions for Golden Couscous recipe page lists three recipes that can be easily scaled up. For example, when following the “Basic Recipe”, you may use double the amount of ingredients to obtain 4 to 6 servings.
