Creamed Vegi Soup

This recipe is from the Vegi Soup Mix label.


Simmer soup mix and water for 30 minutes. Add cut-up carrots, celery and onion. Continue cooking for 30 minutes or until ingredients are soft. Cool soup enough to blend. Place soup in blender, and blend until smooth. Add 1 cup Milk (rice, soy, etc.) to blended soup.

Season to taste and warm soup to serving temperature- but do not boil.

**Note, broth can be substituted for water.

There is nothing worse than planning an entree and finding out at serving time that it is not fit to eat. I got on the website to see suggestions to seasonings, etc. I might add but I had already tried some of the suggestions. The worst part is I have a whole bag of this stuff.

I was so excited when I saw the vegi soup mix at the store, I assumed I would be able to find wonderful recipes & ideas from this site and online in general ,, needless to say I wasnt enticed by the recipes found on this site and could find none on the web. kind of disappointed.

It is a really good soup for cold days. I personally don't know why the reviews are negative. When using a soup mix I add onion, carrots, celery, potatoes and use salt, black pepper, cumin, bay leaves and garlic. When ready I top with sour cream. I don't blend it.

I added my favorite browned Italian sausage to the Creamy Vegi Soup recipe printed on the package. I didn't blend the soup. Made a wonderful hearty soup!! Brought it to a sick friend, and she asked for the recipe!!

I just got this soup mix as a gift and I'm super excited to make it because it is a perfect combo of my favorite ingredients: yellow and green split peas and lentils!!

This is my favorite soup mix, it has so many possibilities. I make a lot of my own dried bean mixtures but still always keep this well stocked because there is nothing as versatile. Even picky eaters will eat this when I cook it!

This is one of my all-time favorite soup mixes. I use this recipe, which is on the side of the package and add whatever meat I have on hand - usually sausage or kielbasa. My husband loves it and it makes really delicious leftovers for lunches. I highly highly recommend this soup mix.
