The second largest world crop, rice is a staple food in Asia where it is grown on small paddies and harvested by hand, just as it has been for centuries. Bob's Red Mill Long Grain White Rice is carefully selected from the finest rice crops in America. The slender kernels are four times longer than they are wide. Because this rice contains a relatively low percentage of starch, the cooked grains are light, dry and separate easily. Our Long Grain White Rice has had the bran and germ removed.
White rice is low in fat and a good source of iron. Long Grain White Rice can be served alone or in stews, pilafs, stir-fries, casseroles, salads, curries, soups or with vegetables. See the back of our package for basic cooking instructions, as well as a delectable recipe for Rice Salad with Pepper and Currants. Our long grain white rice is extremely rich in flavor, and makes a wholesome and delicious addition to your table.
As a continued commitment to the quality of the products we make and sell, all of Bob’s Red Mill products are certified kosher pareve or kosher dairy by Rabbi Avrohom Teichman of Kehilla Kosher, Igud HaKashrus of Los Angeles.
All Bob’s Red Mill products are vegetarian. This product is also vegan, meaning it is made without the use of any animal products including eggs, dairy, and honey.
