DetailsCurrants are used extensively in cooking and confections. These are the finest seedless raisins produced from Zante and Corinth grapes. Their flavor is similar to dark raisins, but because of their small size, they are more dispersed throughout the baked goods giving the illusion that you've used twice the amount.

First note: this is not black current/currant. It is a zante currant. Black currants (and red and white) are not a grape but a berry. Unique taste, popular in Europe, most have had it in Creme de cassis.
These, Zantes, taste great (rasin) flavor, but be aware of the nomenclature confusion. I purchased it not looking at the "fine print". Wanted black currants not rasins. These are good in oatmeal cookies though.
Would only recommend if a friend wanted small rasins, but not if they wanted "real" black currants.
