Bob’s
Red Mill Expands to New Facility;
Triples
Manufacturing Capacity
The
320,000-square- foot-facility will also allow for four-times
the gluten free manufacturing
Milwaukie
, Ore. – Bob’s Red Mill Natural
Foods will soon be able to offer three times the whole grain
goodness, thanks to a move of its manufacturing, warehouse
and office space to a 320,000-square-foot building.
Located
a half mile away from the existing facility, the new location
effectively triples the current manufacturing capacity. “This
should take care of our needs for the next 10-15 years,” said
Bob Moore, founding partner of Bob’s Red Mill.
The
new facility – which includes 17 acres of land, with 7 acres
under roof – allows for expansion of the company’s manufacturing,
packaging, and distribution capabilities for the more than
400 Bob’s Red Mill products. Not only can general product
production triple, the miller can also create gluten free
products at four times their current rate in a 23,000-square-foot
dedicated gluten free manufacturing facility.
“Our
goal is to continue to meet our customers’ increasing demand
for more whole grain foods, and gluten free is a big part
of that,” Moore said. “Our products are available in almost
every grocery retailer in the U.S. , and throughout Canada,
South America, and Asia; and with the added capacity in the
new facility we can increase the number of products each store
carries, thereby meeting our customers’ demands for more variety.”
Previously,
the company’s manufacturing and distribution facilities were
in separate buildings; the new facility allows all functions
of the business to now operate under one roof.
The
Whole Grain Store and Visitors Center will stay at its current
location. The new headquarters address will be 13521 SE Pheasant
Court , Milwaukie , Oregon .
